One of the most effective methods to combat the problem of climate change is to increase afforestation. To stop this global problem , the world needs 1 to 1.5 trillion trees by 2030 . However, today, unfortunately, it is almost impossible to reach this number with traditional methods. As Vitruta, we are aware of this problem, we want to draw attention to this issue and try to find a solution.

Within the scope of the Vitruta Sustainability Program, we classify products with more than 50% of their materials obtained from natural resources as " sustainable " in our online and physical stores, and we highlight these products with labels with a QR code. Within the framework of our cooperation with ecording ; On behalf of all our customers who purchase these products, scan the QR codes and choose their seeds, we plant seeds with ecoDrone in hard-to-reach areas that need to be afforested.

ecoDrone ; Developed by ecording, they are unmanned aerial vehicles that shoot 250 seed balls from the air in 1 minute to hard-to-reach areas that need to be afforested and deliver the seeds to the soil with a 16-fold protection rate.

What is a Seed Ball?

Seed balls are produced in order to improve the germination probability of seeds under natural conditions and to minimize the negative effects they may encounter during the process of turning into trees; It is prepared with a special mixture. The contents of the seed balls include; clay, minerals, forest soil, seeds, water retaining materials and fertilizer. Seeds coated with this prepared mixture; They are protected from adverse conditions such as cold, extreme heat, wind, and forest creatures eating the seeds.

Support for Women's Employment

The seed balls used in seed planting operations are produced by women who live in rural areas in those regions and are directly affected by the climate crisis. Women living in these regions are provided with training on the special process developed for seed ball production, and the produced seed balls are purchased from them. Thus, while creating an alternative source of income for them, they are also enabled to participate in the fight against the climate crisis.
