The GEL-NYC 2055 sneaker takes design influences from several archived running shoes released in the early 2000s.

The upper references the GT-2050 and GT-2060 running shoes, with key details taken from those silhouettes being adopted into the sneaker’s ASICS Stripes, heel counter and lace construction.

The sole complements the retro influences of the upper, contrasting with the sole system of the GEL-CUMULUS 16 shoe. Thanks to the combination of lightweight foams and GEL technology inserts, this midsole structure helps to provide enhanced underfoot comfort.
