Suede is made from the underside of cowhide that has been pre-brushed to make it softer and more flexible. It comes from farms in the south of Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul) and is tanned in Brazil without the use of harmful or banned chemicals. VEJA uses traditional dyes that comply with the law and takes special care with the use of water in the tanning process. The suede is coated with PFC-free waterproof oils to protect against light rain.
